It's the little things in life...

Greetings Dowel fans!

This month its sugar, spice and all things nice. A positive and uplifting newsletter. We attempt to warm the cockles of your heart - with news of the Dowel! And what a month its been! We have multiples announcements - members news, a guided meditation and pretty pictures. Praise the Dowel!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT #1
A Post Nominal for Everyone!

We are pleased to announce that the formal post-nominal letters for Members of the Dowel has been agreed – members of the Dowel can now include the letters "M.Dowel" after their name.

When addressing fellow members of the Dowel, or filling out formal… forms…for yourself. Feel free to include the post nominal “M.Dowel” .. for example "Jane Bloggs M.Dowel", you can also use the term "Jane Bloggs M.D." if you prefer but if you do this you must promise - promise - not to practice medicine unless you are also registered with the relevant medical authorities.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT #2

Any registered members of the Dowel can now counter sign passport applications in the U.K. The important thing to note there is "registered" - with your own membership number. If you are not registered officially - email us now.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT #3

Do you not want to complete your taxes online? You can tell the governement that you refuse to do it on religious grounds. You still have to pay your taxes - but you can do it via the mail. The Dowel is open to any exploitation you like - provided it makes your life easier and it doesnt conflict with the "be nice" tenet.

MEMBERSHIP NEWS:

The lack of new membership applications this month is in many ways a blessing.

Firstly, no new members means there are more potential members next month. Statistically - if you were to approach a random stranger - they probably have not yet been introduced to the Dowel - so by all means go ahead and change someones life.

Secondly - our most recent member tripped over in their own living room and managed to knock themselves out - cold. I'm not sure how they managed that but I am reconsidering our open to all policy.

And finally, with the smaller flock - we can focus more on you - our grass roots supporters. Why don't you grab a Dowel and join us in a guided meditation....

A guided meditation with the Dowel.
(This will not hurt)

Ideally - you will find somewhere quiet, comfortable and safe… somewhere where you will not be disturbed. Now - sit or lie down and get comfortable, gently hold your Dowel in your hand…

Close your eyes…. allow yourself to relax – feel the tension leaving all parts of your body - allow yourself to flop. Feel the touch of your clothes (or the air) on your skin, the feeling of the ground below you, perhaps you will feel the blood coursing through your body or your heart beating, soon you will ignore these thoughts and feel only the Dowel in your hand. Now relax yourself further. Clear you mind of all other thoughts – can you see it? Away in the distance –a little white dot on an otherwise dark background? Its appears to be just sitting there not moving – but wait – you will see it is slowly getting bigger – noiselessly approaching you… You start to recognise more details…. yes… yes… its a Dowel.

A single Dowel hovering in front of you…. Can you see it? Try to picture as many details as you can - is it light or dark, is it rotating or is it still? What size is it? Does it move at all? Can you see the woodgrain? Is the grain uniform or varied? Are the ridges straight or do they spiral? Can you smell it?

Now look at the big picture again - look at it - its a single Dowel. One solitary Dowel in what is otherwise a big vast nothingness…. Do you sense any fear from the Dowel? The Dowel is strong. The Dowel is not troubled by thoughts of insignificance. Reflect on that.

The Dowel is interconnected with us all. Feel the connectivity course through you - what does that make you feel? Is it the height of all human feeling?

I like to do this at least once every day - usually as soon as I wake up and also before I got sleep and also occasionally before I eat lunch. I probably spend about 20 minutes on it each time and I find it helps me enormously. If you embrace the Dowel then you can experience the height of human feeling whenever you want. I encourage you all to put these things in to practice whenever you can.

We are all one. Praise the Dowel.

I was not sure if this was a butterfly that looks like a Dowel - or a Dowel glammed up with butterfly wings? In the end - it doesnt really matter does it?

Praise the Dowel.

NEXT MONTH

Next month - the Dowel price watch will probably return - and this will probably mean a return of deep filled rage and fury aimed at those who choose to exploit value of the Dowel for purely self involved gains. Also - its been a while since we shared any updates on our space programme, so maybe we will do that too. Until then - enjoy yourselves and praise the Dowel!
